With the title Managing the Changes the conference was an opportunity to take stock of the difficult market situation and to reflect on possible scenarios recovery and business development of office.
Philip Ross is a consultant, commentator and writer on emerging technology and its impact on work, the workplace and people’s lives.
He has worked with organizations such as Ernst & Young, Allen & Overy, McKinsey & Co., Cushman & Wakefield and Royal Bank of Scotland on future concepts and opportunities for innovation.
Philip has spoken at conferences around the world including the Wall Street Journal Europe CEO Forum on Converging Technologies, alt. office in the USA and Corenet’s Global Summits in Beijing and Melbourne.
In 1994 he wrote and published the Cordless Office Report and in 1996 launched Unwired. He has written three books on the future of work and workplace: The Creative Office, The 21st Century Office and Space to Work, that has been published in October 2006 (all co-authored with Jeremy Myerson) and has contributed to a number of books including the Responsible Workplace and the Corporate Fool. Philip founded Cordless Consultants in 1994 and is now CEO of Cordless Group.
Mauro Spinelli is a partner of CSIL since November 2008 and is an Expert of the Business Consulting Unit. He graduated in Political Science at the University of Macerata and specialised in Business Management at ISTAO (Ancona).
His main area of activities are marketing and the competitive intelligence analysis. Over the last years he conducted several studies and field analyses especially in Western Europe and New European Member Countries.
The areas in which he has gained most expertise are the office furniture industry and furniture distribution in general.
Juriaan Van Meel
Jurriaan van Meel (Rotterdam, 1972) studied at the Faculty of Architecture of Delft University of Technology. In 1995 he obtained his Master’s degree in Real Estate & Project Management. After that, he began research for his PhD on international differences in European office design, which has resulted in the book: The European Office (Rotterdam, 2000).
He also has been involved in the design and implementation of alternative workplace solutions at various organizations. Jurriaan van Meel is a regular speaker at conferences and joint author of a number of publications on office design, including The office, the whole office and nothing but the office (Delft, 1998).
Dominique Vignot is Managing Director and Partner of Futurable, a consulting cabinet in ecoactivities and eco-networks. As a local delegate in Lower Normandy, she organized the network wood-energy.
She studied Sociology and IAE and is a specialist in managing and structuring new eco-networks. She was the initiator of the travelling exhibition “La Maison du Développement Durable et des Formations du Développement Durable” (‘The Institution for Sustainable Development and Stustainable Organisations’).
Thomas Reardon is the Executive Director of BIFMA International, the North American trade association representing the interests of business furniture manufacturers and their suppliers. BIFMA’s mission is to lead, advocate, inform and develop standards for the North American office and industrial furniture industry.
Mr. Reardon joined BIFMA in 1990 as the Manager of Research & Information with responsibility for the industry market statistics program. During his tenure with BIFMA he has also had responsibility for membership development, marketing programs, international affairs, communications and the annual industry conference. Tom was promoted to executive director in January, 1998.
Tom’s furniture industry career began in 1985 in marketing and product development with Haworth Inc., one of the largest office furniture manufacturers. Prior to that, Mr. Reardon held a variety of engineering, sales and administrative positions with United Technologies Automotive Group. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration. A native of Michigan, he currently resides in the Grand Rapids area with his wife and two children.
